Dr. Fei Victor Lim is an accomplished literacy researcher and dedicated educator whose expertise in multimodality encompasses multiliteracies, multimodal discourse analysis, digital learning environments, and the emerging educational applications of generative AI (GenAI). Guided by the firm conviction that literacy education must remain inherently future-oriented and dynamically evolve alongside today’s rapidly shifting communication landscape, his scholarly work explores the fundamental questions of what and how educators should teach learners to thrive in the contemporary digital age. Dr. Lim is deeply passionate about the transformative power of education and its vital role in enhancing both individual personal development and broader societal well-being across diverse communities. This core philosophy drives a strong practice-oriented research agenda that directly informs, enriches, and shapes his higher education teaching, academic mentorship, and professional service. At the university level, he designs and teaches specialized pre-service and postgraduate courses centered on multimodality in education, while actively supervising PhD, Master’s, and undergraduate students across a wide range of research projects aligned with his own domain expertise. Topic: Multimodality Meets AI: Rethinking Language Teaching and Learning in the Digital Age

\As a Lecturer in the Centre for Language and Linguistics at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), Dr. Castaladi teaches across diverse academic levels, ranging from Foundation, BA, and MA degree programmes to PhD supervision. He also serves as Course Co-Director for both the PhD Preparation Programme and the Pre-Masters Diploma. Drawing on over a decade of professional experience in the TEFL industry, he holds a BA in Translation Studies from the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, an MSc in Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, and Postgraduate Diplomas in ELT and ELT Management. In 2018, he secured a full-time scholarship from CCCU to pursue his PhD in Applied Linguistics, which he successfully completed in 2022. Having worked at CCCU since January 2019 and joined as a permanent staff member in September 2022, he lectures on the BA in English Language and Linguistics and MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, alongside past teaching in Arts & Humanities and Education. Designated as an Active Independent Researcher with Significant Responsibility for Independent Research, his primary scholarly interests centers on Critical Discourse Studies, Multimodality, mass-mediated communication, the semiotic and cognitive aspects of manipulation, audience interactive experiences, and meaning interpretation.

Dr. Hannah M. Y. Ho is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Asian Studies and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, as well as a Research Associate at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore. Recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University in 2024, she previously completed prestigious postdoctoral fellowships at King’s College London, the University of California, Berkeley, and the National University of Singapore. Her interdisciplinary research critically examines literary representations of Bruneian identities, mobilities, emerging technologies, mental health, contemporary and comparative literatures, and transnational migration. Dr. Ho has secured major competitive research grants examining Chinese language education and Chinese Bruneian communities, leading to her landmark published monograph, Stories of the Chinese Communities in Brunei Darussalam (2023). Beyond her dedicated empirical research, she maintains an active editorial presence within prestigious international academic publishing. She serves as Associate Editor of Southeast Asia: A Multidisciplinary Journal, Southeast Asia Section Editor for The Year’s Work in English Studies with Oxford University Press, and Southeast Asia Section Editor for the Literary Encyclopaedia, where she champions Bruneian literatures. Her wide-ranging scholarship continues to advance broader regional understanding of Southeast Asian cultural identity, diaspora, and heritage.
